Oral Examination

Cambridge school of Colombo has taken an extra effort to motivate the students of primary grades, especially those who lack writing skills to score better marks in exams by introducing the oral assessment in the current academic year2019.This gives an encouragement to the students to perform well in upcoming exams and also to improve their ability in written exams.

The benefits of Oral examination includes better retention in academic performance and immediate feedback from teachers which helps the teachers to find ways to improve the academic performance of the child.

The examination structure will be as follows,

Mathematics Exam

Written paper              =  75 
10 Oral questions          =  10 
Activity based questions   =   5
Multiplication             =  10
Total                      = 100 marks

English Exam

Written paper 1            = 80
10 Oral questions          =  5 
Listening                  =  5
Dictation                  = 10
Total                      = 100 marks

Written paper 2            = 75 
10 Oral questions          =  5
Speech                     =  5
Poem                       =  5
Reading                    = 10
Total                      = 100 marks
